Hair Care
COWASH
Divide your hair into 2-4 sections before wetting your hair. This simplifies the wash process with curly textures.
Thoroughly get each section wet. Apply conditioner section by section, working through each with a detangling brush.
After detangling, deep condition for 15-30 minutes. During the rinsing phase, for kinkier textures, consider leaving a bit of conditioner in the hair to act as a leave-in conditioner, retaining moisture. For looser curl patterns or if you want your hair to be more in volume rinse thoroughly to prevent weighing down the curls.
BEDTIME CARE
Before bedtime, secure hair in a high loose pineapple or twist into large sections. Wear a satin scarf or bonnet to maintain the curl pattern and reduce frizz while sleeping.
LONG TERM CARE
Between installs or once a month, consider using an intensive hair masque or hot oil treatment for extension longevity.
Always apply a heat protectant when heat styling to prevent damage, keeping in mind that excessive heat styling can alter the original curl pattern and hair integrity.
CURL DEFINITION
Curl Definition comes after completing the CoWash.
Divide your hair into 3-4 parts and thoroughly detangle using a Detangling brush.
Create a water and conditioner mix (2/3 water, 1/3 conditioner) in a spray bottle. Spray each section generously to ensure full saturation.
DAILY CARE
When styling your hair for the day, release the pineapple or twist, lightly mist hair before applying leave-in conditioner and/or coiling custard as needed. Fluff your hair out. Avoid excessive manipulation to prevent excess frizz. Depending on the desired look mist & leave-in conditioner may not be required daily.
STRAIGHTEN CARE
After washing and completely drying the hair. Apply a hair protectant and a silk serum before apply heat. The recommended heat temperature is 350 - 400 degrees.
WET LOOK
Spray mixture throughout your hair. Apply foaming mousse, coiling custard, or styling cream throughout your hair and allow it to dry thoroughly. Using a detangling brush, brush through each saturated section. Use a microfiber towel to dry hair
I always recommend air drying for the best results alternatively, using a blow dryer with a diffuser until it is at least 60% dry can help to prevent frizz and lock in curls.
Avoid touching or running fingers through the curls as they dry.
Refresh curls as needed until the next Co-Wash with the water/conditioner mix spray a small amount of leave-in conditioner spray.
BUNDLE CARE
All bundles should be washed before installation. Leave the rubber band in tact when washing. The care routine for our curly textures is more comprehensive, primarily because of the unique structure of curly hair strands. When acquiring curly hair, it's crucial to form a realistic expectation regarding the level of maintenance required to preserve the beauty of the curls. Our curly hair textures closely mimic the appearance of natural hair. It's essential to recognize and treat it as such, understanding that it behaves like your natural hair, necessitating appropriate maintenance. See DAILY CARE for daily maintenance.
DYING & BLEACHING CARE
Virgin hair does not dye lighter than number 27. Apply dye to washed hair. When bleaching 25 -30 developer is recommended. Over processing the hair can alter the original curl pattern. You would care for the hair as you would your natural dyed or bleached hair.
